" . . . Those who told the truth about a particular regime have been exiled, jailed, or killed by those in power whose fury had been aroused. To be sure, the obvious explanation is that they were dangerous to their respective establishments, and that killing them seemed the best way to protect the status quo. This is true enough, but it does not explain the fact that the truth-sayers are so deeply hated even when they do not constitute a real threat to the established order. The reason lies, I believe, in that by speaking the truth they mobilise the resistance of those who repress it. To the latter, the truth is dangerous not only because it can threaten their power but because it shakes their whole conscious system of orientation, deprives them of their rationalisations, and might even force them to act differently. Only those who have experienced the process of becoming aware of important impulses that were repressed know the earthquakelike sense of bewiLderment and confusion that occurs as a result. Not all people are willing to risk this adventure, least of all those who profit, at least for the moment, from being blind." (Erich Fromm, The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness, Fawcett Crest Book, Greenwich, Connecticut, pps. 233-4.)

1. It's incredible that the radiation poisoning of one person has had such a wide reaching impact with regard to the contamination of others. It makes me wonder about the impact of radiation on a larger scale. The situation would be hopeless. That's why it is so important to prevent especially when cure is impossible, and one of the key reasons why I address those who fake it putting us all at risk from a terrible terrorist attack like this.

Eight tested over radiation alert

Down Street offices, Mayfair
Radiation was found at an office of Mr Litvinenko's associate

A total of eight people have now been referred for tests after the radiation poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko, the Health Protection Agency said.

The HPA said 1,121 people called NHS Direct over the alert by midnight on Monday and 68 cases were followed up.

And the academic who met the former Russian spy on the day he was taken ill has returned to the UK to be tested.

Police will interview Italian Mario Scaramella - a potential witness - as part of the inquiry into the death.

The HPA said the eight people were referred to the clinic as a precautionary measure because they had symptoms which may indicate exposure to radiation. Tests aimed to rule this out.

. . .

The prime minister, meanwhile, has said no "diplomatic or political barrier" would stand in the way of the police investigation.

"It is obviously a very, very serious matter indeed. We are determined to find out what happened and who is responsible," Tony Blair said.

2. The US/UK do not need such a law as described below. They just go ahead and do it at will which is what I've been experiencing now for many years 24/7. These assassins run amok from the West especially the US out into the world killing anyone they dislike. Extra judicial assassination is the standard as I've been experiencing along with incarceration, torture and medical experimentation by the lethal use of this surveillance technology 24/7 for many years. Just as the Russian law's application below extends to those who criticise, it's those people in the West who "take out" anyone who disagrees. They are a law unto themselves and have been operating with the full concurrence and support of the British government all these years in London. Go easy on the finger pointing against Russia. The West is worse.

Russia law on killing 'extremists' abroad

By Steven Eke
BBC Russia analyst

Alexander Litvinenko

A new Russian law, adopted earlier in the year, formally permits the extra-judicial killings abroad of those Moscow accuses of "extremism".

In the wake of the death of ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko in London, the Sunday Telegraph has alleged that Russian spy agencies - "emboldened" by the new law - have carried out a number of such targeted killings.

In July, the upper chamber of the Russian parliament - the Federation Council - approved a law which permits the Russian president to use the country's armed forces and special services outside Russia's borders to combat terrorism and extremism.

At the same time, amendments to several other laws, governing the security services, mass media and communications, were adopted.

The overall result was to dramatically expand those defined as terrorist or extremist.

3. Because the death of Alexander Letvinenko is a major news item and deservedly so, Tony Blair is force to claim that he will leave "No Turn Unstoned." Apologies to Diana Rigg for stealing the title of her book. However, when he is made aware of fundamental torture being carried out with the use of surveillance technology intending to kill for eight and 1/4 years, he does nothing despite being fully informed since Septemberr 1999. Obviously his standard is to play to the media when he has no choice while holding the club behind his back that is being used to beat those he dislikes to death. Tony Blair is the "Rasputin" of the UK. That will surely result in an escalation of the brutality against me.

By Richard Beeston, Diplomatic Editor

Tony Blair vowed today that "no diplomatic or political barrier" would be allowed to hamper the police investigation into the death of Alexander Litvinenko, the former Russian spy who died of radiation poisoning last week.
