Reid 'furious' over wrong figures

Mr Reid told MPs on Tuesday that four murderers, as well as 23 other "most serious" offenders, were in detention.
But now he says one murderer, a rapist and a child sex offender had actually already been released on bail by the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.
A senior civil servant has been removed from his post pending an inquiry.
Sources close to Mr Reid say he only discovered the mistake on Tuesday after asking specific questions.
Staff from the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) went to the bail hearings to oppose the prisoners being released on bail but they lost.

One wonders about the shambolic state of the Home Office, and how it will cope with the problems resulting from a casino state.

'Super-casino' shortlist set out

Of 27 applicants, London's Wembley Stadium and Millennium Dome, Cardiff, Blackpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Glasgow are on the list.
Only one site will eventually get the go-ahead for a super-casino with unlimited jackpots.
A further 16 licences for small and large casinos with jackpot limits of £4,000 will also be granted.
The Casino Advisory Panel's final decision is expected to be handed to ministers in December.

Super casinos will solidify organised crime in this country. They will become a source of money laundering, political corruption, drugs, prostitution of the kind where women are abused and any other rackets that organised crime think are profitable.
Organised crime will get a foothold and become entrenched by fear backed by an incredible cash flow that will milk society including those addicted to gambling transferring that wealth to criminal activities and corrupt politicians. These will come to dominate.
One has to look with alarm at Tessa Jowell's estranged husband and his past connections and money laundering activity.
Tony Blair and this Labour Government have made a terrible mistake in allowing super casinos to get started in this country. We've seen that Labour needs a lot of money for its elections and allegedly sold peerages to gain loans for itself and its pet projects, i.e., academy schools.
Once these crime syndicate centres get established not even SOCA will be able to cope with it since they too will be subject to corruption and fear.
Organised crime is a terrible thing that destroys societies, and super casinos are their strongholds.
