Monday, 11th January 1999 Week 02

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 05:35:56    Up again aftr the snoring below got very intense and stopped; it was so loud that it soundelike it wa goign through the door below intothe Walkway; definitely associatd with breating I believe withsome three to six sets of in and out breaths followed by a pauese of sme time thenrepoeated;   when I went back to bed it was going on as soon as I opened the living room doo but I cld no hear it ni here; thre wa also a soundof the frnt door slammnig and some noinse in the Walkway a I returned to bed; I lay down to try to sleep bu coudl not with the snoring; it did stop after awhile and I fell asleep first on my back then I turned on my side; I left the closet door open to hear sounds in the Walkway; eventuallly h; I heard noises below as if someone were up and about for awhile then thee was the snoringagain as if they went back to sleep havingwoken themselves up wit the snoring; I heard water in the wall and then sme more nises from the cenre of te Walkway incljudng a door slam; thre was the sund of footsteps comig thsi way but no other soundI finallly sat up to get up as the snoring was too loud and it stopped immediaely.

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 05:50:51    Couple emptty boxes fell off the small stack by the door in the bedroom whlst I was lookingfor a door stop on the othr side; (the remove lock was wat I has after); there wer sounds lardy of smeone below up and about; I was propping open the door to let the heat circulate in the flat as I hd just propped openthe living rooom and bathroom doors.   Too bad but theywere already up and coudl not have been disturbed; something falling on occasions is unavaoidable.

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 06:49:04    Someone just went below pushing a wheeled cart; at 0645 an auto went east and then turned around and came back this direction.  Just reviewed the video.  


Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 07:02:40    As soon as I got up to go to the bathroom; the light flashed coming in the balcony oor (someone walkingin front of it if I is on the ground level otherwise being turne on an doff); there were voices outside immediately too as I came righ back to recorc this.  

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 07:27:18    Back from the bedroom after dressing; shaved before that by filling the sink whlst the toilet was flushed and filling to minimise the noise; minimal noise whislt shaving and nothign frm ouside; whilst I as ressing someone unlocked and entered a flat in the Walkway nearby; no squeak so the noise froms most likely ot from below (might have been thoug as there are now noisees from below whenthere were none shilst I shaved and dressed); just bfor ging into the bathroom to shave I took off my sweat clohes and watch and glasses to leave in bedroom; the two yellow light vehicle came back around the corner headin gthis way again and stopped at the other end wiht an auto ging the oher way; either they were passing carefully or talking.

Imortant: there was someone leaving the flat below I belowive earir after I dropped he (or they fell on the floor) in he bedroom; blieve they might have gone out to get someone and to wath frm out front which hey did until I stood up to go the bathroom at 0700 and he light flictered (the one shining thrugh the balcony door) and their voices started jabbering.

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 07:45:50    Wentinto the kitchen to prepare rubbish to be taken out; out the bread and chicken giblets from fridge into bag along with two bottles; ooke the two plastic bags intot he hall by the door; th edog started barking before I got there; I went into the small room for the afghan and book getting them and bringthem out; all the while the dog kept barking; I broght th eafghan intotheliving room and the book; lifed up he briefcase to move it and ithe lid fell open with the flashlightand two bckup tapes sliding to the back of it with a noise; not my day is it; the dog was barking thoughout thiss; I put the brief case o the floor alogn with the book as someone ran up or down the statairs to th efloor above; I went oto look but could not see anything bu heard a voice say soemthing to someoen; came back and put cardboard iside afghan and put it in normal place on fileing boxes;with briefcase on top and book on stand on arm of chair.

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 07:56:15    Into hall to unlock the front door prior to exit; took the broom away and made a noise on the radiator; she is yelling below an swearing in her normal fashion (“why the [obscenity] does he do these things”]; water in the wall is very loud; from another source as I have not run any water since just after seven; front doot slams.

0815    Quietly got out the door with no noises outside.  Took my two bags of rubbish to the chute on the 3rd floor and put the down; there were several bags of rubbish on the floor beside the open chute with the safety door sitting on the floor; a black woman was coming from the other end and passed under me as I walked from the rubbish chute to the middle stairs, and I also heard a loud “snap” from this end of the building as is sometimes made by 503's door.  The black woman was going into the first flat after the front door entrance (500/1) as I came down the middle stairs; I fully expected to see someone at the other end following the door “snap” but saw no one other than her (I do not think she made that noise).  As I was approaching the Bram Rd top door there was another loud door “snap” noise only from that end it sounded like just after I had passed a door but I do not know which one.  

    Out and around the corner where a couple older white guys with rucksacks and satchels came from the tube direction down the way to Gren Twr just ahead of me.  They went into the Gren Twr entrance as I went to Silchester Rd and turn up toward the Verity Close area; they came out of the parking lot just as I got to the road into it; no advantage to take the short cut through Gren Twr evidently; they also turned off to go through Verity Close area but went off in the direction of the Sports Centre as I went on past the playground/nursery (which was under landscape construction) to Clarendon Rd; walked up to the road that went to the top of Notting Hill and its church and walked up and around the church to Ladbroke Grove; went down to the side of Ladbroke Square and walked up to the first street before turning right and going out to Holland Pk Ave at the beginning of the stores; walked on up to Barclays.

0845    Since Barclays did not open for about 15 minutes, I walked around a bit for the time unti l it opened at 0900; went up to and around the road past Venelli(?); past that pub on the corner and took the diag st out to Ken Church St crossing he Zebra Crossing and walked down its west side past the Churchill Arms to the next Zebra Crossing where I crossed back again and went down that street to the one which would take me back to the Venelli(?) Restaurant area and Nott Hill Gate: got back to the bank just about 0900.

0900    Waited a bit after the guy from downstairs called upstairs about the Connect card pickup and went up to get it; gave my old card to the guy (after a bit of a discussion about the outstanding BT Internet bill (let it go and see what happens)); saw the Business Banker about the poss of business direct debit cards; but still none yet; looked at my account for a credit card but would be hard pressed to even it XL 500 pounds as I had explained was most likely the case at the beginning.  

0930    Walked all the way down Holl Pk Ave to the Addisons opposite Royal Crescent and turned down and walked to Lower Addison Gdns; across Holl Rd along the Addison Gdns to Shep Bush Rd and Tesco for some food (5.17 at milk, tagliatelle, sunflower spread, cheese slices, 2 biscuits, 12 crumpets, doz eggs) and hshd (1.17 shampoo, conditioner).  

1045    Walked back the now normal route retracing the Addison route to Holl Pk Ave and then down past the church park and phone kiosks to Julies and down Portland Rd to its wrap around out to Clarendon Rd the back through Verity Close area to Silchester and then down past Gren Twr; couple crossed Silchester at parking lot entrance and walked near me up to Gren Twr where they turned off.  

1130    Three guys in the Walkway near 508's door (of MS parking fame) as I passed above coming to my door; the kitchen window was open next door and was slammed shut as I entered my door.  I looked a couple mins later and it was open again.

Mon, 11 Jan 1999 - 15:49:23    Have moved the notebook to the small room successfully with chord under the door (able to close) from the hall socket; put veggie fat on the small room door hinge and the squeak stopped (miracle but feeding the bugs); moved the paint and supplies to one wall to give me room for the notebook on the other side where it is now; will be perfect for typing at night now;

Tue, 12 Jan 1999 - 11:01:09    It is sitting thre angled in facing this way like it is waiting for someone; horn was a signal that it had arrived and was watching?  I can see movement through the front window.  Someone does come out to it and gets in the passenger side; pulls away and departs to Bram Rd (white hatch back with sun roof).  


Tue, 12 Jan 1999 - 11:08:10    Checked the balcony for rain accumulation: none; it is just wet; the water problem below comes from the pipe draining from the roof and probably balconies above; can hear the rain on the skylights; glad I went shopping yesterday.  Dropped a box on the floor in the bedroom as I straightened them out so none would fall again.  “The” white truck is parked outside; looked like the white sunroofed hatchback just went by heading east.  

Tue, 12 Jan 1999 - 11:58:07    Had a nice rest in the small room for a change; dozed off for a deep, short sleep. Just as I got up and went into the bathroom a guy was deliverying packages to flats 503 (dog started barking when he knocked), 506 and 507 (looked like these were the only ones he delivered to).  He was dressed in what looked like a wet suit with hood against the rain outside; went into bedroom to look at the water on the balcony; still only wet with no accumulatation; in fact, very little water there at all despite the continuous rainfall that sounds on the skylight.  Blue truck parked outside facing the other way but a rounded blue delivery truck and not the square one from below.
