Mon, 8 Feb 1999 - 04:22:49    Safely and soundlessly moved me and the notebook into the living room to the chair and table; got up to the bathroom for a pit stop and put on my trousers; just as I was getting the notebook from the small room; the front door slammed and heels came into the Walkway; there were two knocks on a door proper followed by two more after a pause; no further sounds and I came into the living room as I as holding the notebook; came in crouched all the way; one vehicle sound on the road as I wrote and another in distance like Bramley Road.

January 29, 2006    Just put modem in the Afghan/cardboard; went into the small room for the Afghan and got a few light horn beeps just after I closed he living room door; know that they were looking, I went in a crouch.  Need to muffle the modem sound when for the fax.

Mon, 8 Feb 1999 - 14:41:45    Someone went out like a flash from downstairs just after I turned  on the hot water into the tub; turned it off and left.  There was a sharp door slam and banging of the bar/grate plus locking sounds; footsteps hurried away and the front doo slammed; I had gone into the bathroom for a pit stop and decided to turn on the hot water for a bit; not certain if the exit was related; just watched someone hurry down the DP stairs and long the wall to a small red panel truck (like the one this am) at the far end facing this way; its head lights blinked and it sits there still.  Were they expecting me to be gone this pm?  Dog was barking throughout this; must have seen her go to the vehicle outside and barked.

Mon, 8 Feb 1999 - 17:34:38    Back from the reading room; all kinds of noises and interesting vents; mostly the running upstairs of the guy form outside when it was clear I was going to stay in there and had flushed the toilet; there was the pounding directly above me just as I was going back whilst the toilet refilled and the tub filled with hot water; I was looking out the peephole and he was pounding the floor above me; I went into the small room withe light off (I turned off it off when leaving and this is why I think he thought I was exiting it; doesn’t make sense but he thought I might be taking a bath or something for him to come back inside; when I went into the small room in the dark; there was extensive noise directly over me; that of something rolling and a wardrobe closing but two separate sounds; then there was the sound of the screwdriver or some metal dragging across he floor as I heard on Sat here that wen on fro some time above me in the living room; again trying to unnerve me I think; I rilled the tup on theree sepaae imes; no just two at 1630 and jsut now with a reactin of sorts each time; this time I flushed the toilet at the same time;

Mon, 8 Feb 1999 - 17:44:16    Just went aback to the bathroom to make certain that all was shut off; it was all stopped but the sound of the water from elsewhere was coursing through the walls; the tub is perfectly filled for a bath; I got a lot of signals and reactions to whereever I went; first there was the whistles outside when I went into the hall; the lock on a door in the Walkway (sounded like the one below) was continually operated back and forth); someone was pounding on the railing above me and when I looked out the peephole someone pounded on the floor directly above me.  Went from the bathroom to the small room and stood inside it looking back a the door and the noise below; that’s when I looked thru the peephole; went back in the bathroom and then came back into the living room; they cannot know where I am going to go and are setting up a barrage of noise alerts which give themsevles away; just now as I was writing this there were noises of voices out front or coming from outside.

Whilst downloading there was considerable activity outside; the dog started barking again [recognised the cackler?]; the cackler laughed and an engine directly below started with agreat deal of noise on two separate occasions following car door slams initially; finally got away I hope [but didn’t hear it depart].

[This is identical to the same situation when the cackler laughed evidently walking down the footpath.  Sounds like a pattern of “discovery” acivity.  See two entries below where I hid behind the file boxes.]

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 01:09:03    Into bathroom for a pit stop; flushed toilet (drain sound) from above and a bit of water in the wall noise but very short; obviously perfectly timed for my arrival in the bathroom; could be a coincidence but doubt it; wokeup twice so far each time with a dream but no noise

First time I woke I was in the exact position that I had assumed when I went to sleep; I had a dream (cannot remember now) and do not know what time it was; I did not hear a noise then and nothing when I woke ; was only awake for a brief period; rolled over to my other side and went back to sleep; had an erection though which was most unusual.

This time when I woke (the second time) I had a clear gangster nightmare; where I was not directly threatened but those close to me were; I came back to find out that one guy was just never seen again; there was a kind of yard with a tree and barbed wire topped fence where they all came down; I seemed to be trapped in this yard; never got out; in fact this is where I heard the news of the guy never seen before; then I woke up.  Again no reason to yell or try to talk; I did not and do not think I made a noise either time.

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 02:12:56    Heard a voice yell outside just as I came thru the door into the living room; just before that there was a door squeak below followed by the front door slamming as I went into the small room for my glasses and watch; had just finished a very nice bath; washed hair and shaved; but it was filled with interesting noises all the way almost; there was water in the wall from elsewhere several times but for short intervals; just after I got into the tub a couple came into theWalkay; heard the front door slam; followed by two pairs of footsteps one of them “heels”; they walked very slowly and were talking; the voices sounded like the Screamer and that of the new guy with the long hair who speaks with an accent and can converse with the neighbout next door; there was the faintests of bar/grate sounds and the squeak of a door and its shutting; very obviously trying to keep any noise supressed; there was no more sounds; I did not hear the front door slam again; during this entry was the one time when the water in the pipes in the wall noise was its loudest but not that loud even then and only for a very short time; I did not run any water whatsoever as my bath was already full and still quite warm; as mentioned when I got out of the bathroom there was the door squeak and front door slam; I do not know if this was related to the couple coming in at the start of my bath but each of these noises was certainly bookends to the bath at just the right time; sounds like the Screamer has got a new BF and Louuie is kaput; the way they were talking is obvious that they were disposed to one another and they walked very slowly; they were in no hurry to return; he could have left then or stayed; I don’t know which [of course, this can still be part of a pattern to time “normal” activity in conjunction with what I am doing for the purpose of claiming that behaviour on my part (identifying presence and activity or associated with possible activity as the two episodes of walking down the footpath earlier in the evening.]

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 02:20:50    Finished writing the above with the sound of an auto at the other end of the road starting and moving about or it could have driven the length of the road; just as I began to write and after I heard the voice annnounce my return to the living room; there was a vehcile sound at the other end then too.  

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 02:28:34    Bossed mes dent and time to return to sleep.

After the bath I did not sleep well and kept waking up and shifting position; did have some dreams but nothing that would cause me to try to talk or yell in my sleep; was having one when I woke at the end; the noise at this time was unusual for the past couple days; it has been quiet until now; we will see what is going on as the noise continues.  .

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 05:29:35    Into the living room after a pit stop in the bathroom; noises below woke me up in the small room; there were noises above me in the hall and now as I get here; movement on the floor above like something very quietely being shifted.  The front door slammed while I was in the bathroom; typical that that happens each time I go in there during the night.

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 06:40:19    Back from a getting dressed run around; went back and forth to the kitchen for a shirt taking the one down from the window but it too was too small now; tried the blue one under the dirty white but it was too small; tried it twice but definitely cannot wear it; had to wear the dirty white one; vehicle idling outside as I dressed in the bedroom; did not hear it depart; was also idling when I removed the shirt from the kitchen window; went into the bathroom for the clippers and did some clipping; when I came back to the living room for the final time, an auto started and departed this direction so I stood behind the bookcase as it went by and then came around to the chair.

Unlocked the door first then flushed the toilet; dog started muffled barking below; open the door and stepped out; light still on but all was quiet; dog barked once or twice; locked door and left with dog barking a bit more as I walked away; went past the open rubbish door on the 3rd floor with two lg bags on floor (wide open) and some wood leaning against the chute; safety door on the floor next to open chute; when I was walkingdown the middle stairs looking back in this direction the dog started barking solidly; went on toward Bramley door and just before I reached the stairs from above at that end the door unlock and bar/grate sounds from the other end of the Walkway from 503 were heard loud and clear as I went thru the upper Bram door and out into the cold morning; there was snow on the frozen bits from last night but it was not that cold; walked down path past Gren Twr to Silchester and thru Verity Close; out Clarendor Rd to Holl Pk Ave and up to Nott Hill Gate; walked to Hyde Pk and crossed to the other side of Bayswater Rd and continued along the length of the park to Marble Arch cross back over to the north side at the Zebra Crossing at Hope Lane; walked on down to Oxford St crossing back again to the south side and turned at Dixons to zig and zag to Grosvenor Sq; walked thru it (covered in snow) diagonally and past the Connaught to Berkeley Sq crossing it in its centre opp Annabels to the now BMW dealer; down to Piccadilly and left onward toward 20/20 arriving there about

0850     (1.5 hour walk from here); turned right just before it thru a passageway and street that went straight down to St James Sq where I went and brushed my hair and got the appt letter out.  Walked back up to 20/20 finding the door open but no one there; went up the operating escalators to find out that they did not open until 0930 (Stewart told me 0900); went back outside at to Tower Records at Piccadilly Circus where I browsed in the Country and Folk at NG’s and JB’s CDs.  Left there about 0920 and walked back to 20/20 arriving at 0925; still no one around so I stood at the upper reception for a min until offered a seat inside; eye exam by Vanessa went on until 1030; a guy came out first to go over the record; then measured my glasses and an automatic test for vision focus to give a preliminary prescription; passed on the eye pressure test and went in to be examined by Vanessa.  

    Another very thorough exam and I explained everything; my eyes were much worse and  I explained the probably causes; my diplopie re-emerged immediately by putting together a test that was supposed to have two images above and below.  She went through the rest of the test very carefully and examined the retina too; I explained the flashing lights and probable source; she said that might be very serious (detaching retina) and I explained the very careful exam for that too at the West Eye Hosp on 18.12.98.  Explained the sources of stress and distress that would most likely impact the eyes and have probably done so in recent Tueths.  Went out and was given a vision field test with my glasses on; that had to be limited (machine broke down in the middle of it) and the eye pressure test which was normal.  

    Then I sat down with Stewart and he got the glasses frames for me that were most suitable in my price range (35.00); I will have to pay for those plus 6.50 for the lenses as they are 49.00 and the voucher only covers 42.50.  I will owed 41.50 but did not pay for it as I did last time; he must have forgot and I didn’t think about it.  Pay for it when I pick them up I guess.  

1115    Left 20/20 and went on back down Piccadilly toward Hyde Park; felt much colder but it was mostly sunny; got in the sun at the park along Piccadilly and was OK for a distance until I got to Knightsbridge; went on the same route as last Friday thru Monteplier Sq area to Cromwell Rd and Sains for food (2.94 2 biscuits, 2 tuna, 2 baguettes).  

1230    Walked the usual route (same as Friday) home stopping in Holl Pk for a very short bit (benches were still wet from melting ice/snow) and munched on biscuits along the way.  All clear the whole distance with a police car coming from behnid me as I approached Verity Close.  

1340    Home. Top lock displayed evidence of entry; it stuck on putting the key in; that usually never happens and only if someone has moved the cylinders.  Post on rtn: Elect Times; Inland Revenue Payroll folder; MBNA credit card mailing.

Put away food; set out biscuits and cola; setup notebook; changed clothes.  

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 13:55:14    Settled in with biscuits & cola; update.  Just finished changing and was in bathroom for pit stop when a squeaky door opened below and shut; heels left Walkway with front door slamming; just before that there was a police car siren whch sounded in the distance but could have been on Bramley; did she call the police on my return and then go out to them upon arrival?

Reviewing the glasses prescription and comparing them to the one done last August; the axis are completely reversed; with the prescription for the right eye the same now as the 08.98 bad exam and the 6.50 is +1.00 more than the previous 09.98 5.50 but still 1.00 less then the 08.98 bad exam prescription.  The change was warranted at this point with new glasses; the NHS prescription was written -8.75 (spherical) and -0.75 (axis) which when combined was explained to me as being the same thing as 8.00 for the right eye; the same is true for the -8.00 (spherical) and +1.50 (cylindrical) which combine to give 6.50 for the the left eye.  8.00 and 6.50 are the Vanessa’s exam results; she said the axis stays the same.  I am unhappy with this as it distorts the record and renders it confusing.

[There were sounds of a child running back and forth overhead at least at one point tonight.]

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 18:29:05    Back from pit stop and fetching the Afghan; went into bathroom first to put on trousers (carried with me) and for a pit stop; water started running thru the wall quite noisily and got louder; from elsewhere; not me; I have not run any water since the toilet flush earlier in the pm; went into the living room for the Afghan and brought it to the small room; removed trousers in bathroom and came into the small room to read; set up “pillow” and notebook for this entry; noise above too as a sign that they are above me and vigilant.  Someone was just now out in the Walkway yelling for just a bit and now silence as before: announcing?  

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 19:07:09    Sounded like the Screamer just came back below; she was talking  with someone and it sounded like her voice; the dog barked folloed by a bar/grate sound and a very hard slamming of the door; as I write I can hear her talking below faintly along with some pounding; she must have “come in from the cold” deciding that I was not gong to be in the living room anymore; I was just about to turn off the light and “dream”.

Shouting in Walkway just after I shut off notebook: “Did you hear him yell?” “Yeah,” came the response.  There were more door lock noises as well as slamming the door below; believe they left for conference elsewhere.  

This evening the rail noise upon bathroom exit and very noisy water in wall were most likely each setup items; both as signal to my leaving the bathroom and as source of a claim for “nuisance”; but it is difficult to see how the water can be since it comes from elsewhere and occurs all the time as it did in mid-pm today.  One of those bathroom exits was followed by the siren outside; verification on notification that I was present at the time.  Will fight that even since it is fabricated.

Tue, 9 Feb 1999 - 23:43:43    Walkway noises and a couple people come down the stairs talking; there were screams at the other end of the Walkway (or in the middle); very strange and cold by human or a dog; followed by slamming noises in the rubbbish area it souunded like; then there was hammering; this was when footsteps descnded the stairs with voices talking and I got up to come into the living room to recharge the notebook battery after writing this down; there was no vehicle movement when I came out into the living room. Did not hear any more voices in Walkway but the pounding continued; ah, a vehicle goes by outsode.

Noise in Walkway as I went back into room; two beeps from car outside about 1203; two guys came back and went upstairs; heard heels vaguely walking somewhere; woman talks continuously in animated and argumentative tone for about 20 mins from 1230 on; went to check in bathroom and heard water running in wall rather noisily; but could not hear voices so think they were coming from above; a male started talking about 1250; he had the same tone and argumentative sound; when I left just before 0100, the water was still running but with less noise; sounded like it was that which comes from below but might easily have been above.

Wed, 10 Feb 1999 - 18:04:36    Flushed toilet after pit stop in bathroom; removed trousers there; when I first opened the living room door, someone said outside “there he goes” as the door opened; I put the notebook on the bed and went back for the Afghan; heard some faint voices outside; what a terrible waste of time to sit out there waiting to see me in here; cannot believe it and what’s the point? Then went into the bathroom before coming in here to read.

Wed, 10 Feb 1999 - 18:50:07    Been reading and listening to the hammering and water flow since I flushed the toilet; sounds like they came quietly back into 503 below; the hammering started and the water flow noise in the wall was loud; at one point it stop abruptly and then continued at less volume after a pause.  Stopped reading to write this because this may or may not be something attributable to me at some point if my presence was noted by the flushed toilet and perhaps leaving the living room if only seeing the door open.  I had to go back a third time to get the book which I forgot.

Wed, 10 Feb 1999 - 19:51:44    Door slammed below and someone just ran out in the Walkway to the outside saying something inside then running down the Walkway yelling something outside; this caused the dog to bark and me to get up. Then the “guy” yelled something inside the Walkway.  I had just taken and put the Afghan over me because it was cold with the cold air now coming in under the door; this is going to be a cold night with the warmest temp about 4-6 C.  Was it the Afghan cover or dream?
