Mon, 8 Mar 1999 - 12:30:14    Installed ISA modem card to a group outside looking and verifying my presence near the window.  Door slam below as I started.  

Mon, 8 Mar 1999 - 12:46:34    System up and running after a strange HDD noise (after being turned on its side?) and a reboot because it appeared to hang in DOS with a blank screen after putting in the BIOS password; safe mode was OK and shut down for reboot from that; added drivers for the internal modem rockwell.inf and wave sounc for its voice from the Cheyenne labeled CD-ROM; before that it requested the Win98 CD-ROM and downloaded some drivers that it detected for 2/3 devices that had been there for some time; hope nothing is messed up; the boot went to complete a normal load; now closing all programmes to load the BitWare fax and comms programmes.

Mon, 8 Mar 1999 - 13:07:46    Finished installing software; wen to automatic reboot and hung;  cntrl-alt-del to restart; came back in safe mode again; I’m getting sound “bits” when I restart; at least something is coming thru the card.  Reviewing the Bitware software for voice, fax and data activity.  e:\bitware\bfrecv.exe setup in startup file.  Also set up the voice manager in startup too to have it present; this is a very powerful system.

I selpt during this period but was awakened twice; too groggy and tired to write anything althoug it was significant and just went back to sleep; the second time I pulled the blanket over my head to block out the noise and get back to sleep.  I did not make any noise as the following continuing attempt to disturb me will attest.

Tue, 9 Mar 1999 - 16:34:36    Flush and tub fill; went into bathroom for a dump just after door slammed below; heard front door slam so must have been someone leaving; started hot water into tub; a few mins later there was a loud child’s voice and a women’s who sounded like the screamer; the child sounded like Frank and the women’s the Screamer; heels then came loudly this way and went in below slamming the door; as sure as I can be it was the Screamer and Frank; she must have gone out to get him; let water run for a little while more (tub ½ filled); flushed toilet; thick bleach into toilet; only noise from water tanks refilling and finally the slight water in the wall noise from the flushed toilet; left and went to kitchen to wash hands; got biscuits on plate and put on arm of chair; into the living room and chair were I hit the time above.  Forgot water (bottle empty).

Then I moved back to the bed in a completel crouche behind the file cabinets and very low; impossible to see me through the window.

Once the new modem is turned off (voice manager deactivated), it cannot re-establish modem initialisation because Com4 is shared with another device; I have to reboot to get it connected again; I must go through all of this very carefully to find out what makes it tick.
