'Minister for fitness' appointed

Obese people (BBC)
Obesity levels could see a massive increase

The government has launched a fresh attempt to tackle obesity in England by appointing a 'minister for fitness'.

Public Health minister Caroline Flint has been tasked with getting people to boost their activity levels.

She wants people to build physical activity into their daily routines to create a healthier nation in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.

Figures due out this week are set to show that, if nothing changes, a third of men will be obese by 2010.

The cost of dealing with obesity throughout the NHS already runs into billions of pounds each year

The Department of Health report is also thought to show that girls are particularly at risk - almost a quarter could be obese by 2010.

Ms Flint will be working across all government departments to develop a new fitness strategy for England.

Consider the following:

Chronic sleep deprivation inhibits the proper nutritional uptake which leads to obesity accelerating age onset diseases.

In a medical drug culture where medication is distributed willy nilly there is a chronic interference with the normal metabolic function.

Chronic sleep deprivation and medication are not conducive to exercise especially when that medication tends to debilitate and incapacitate on top of the same result from chronic sleep deprivation.

Consider excessive noises that prevent rest, relaxation and sleep.

This is a serious contributing factor. Noise nuisance abatement is not taken seriously enough, and central and local governments carry out policies which are disruptive to sleep, rest and relaxation.

The government can first address these issues which are detrimental to the human animal in order to rejuvenate vitality and functioning naturally.

There is much that is being done which causes harm. Identify those issues first and abate them in the government first.
