  • Radio 1 censors Pogues' Fairytale: "you scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot" sings Kirsty MacColl at one point after Shane MacGowan said in lyrics "an old slut on junk,"

1. Radio 1 censors Pogues' Fairytale. ". . . you scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot" sings Kirsty MacColl in Fairytale of New York adding "Happy Christmas your arse, I pray God it's our last." Shane MacGowan had stated in lyrics before with "an old slut on junk." Yes, that is a fairy tale of New York in song at Christmas time.

As of this writing, the Controller for BBC Radio One has reversed the decision and will play the lyrics as written noting the artistic creation carried no malicious "negative" intent but reflected the use of language as it existed in the social class and location about which it depicted.

What's all the fuss? I get this all the time from Lt Harry Bird and BS. Calling me a "scumbag" and "faggot" or some variation of abusive, dehumanising, degrading and humiliating language is what they do continuously day and night. They say it's their "job" adding that they want to "shut him down" to "break him down" by keeping up the pressure on me in anyway they can.

It's part of their expression of hatred against me. Never mind that they do not have any relevance to reality. These are words used by them reflecting their own character. When I write about what they do portraying them for what they are and the way they speak has no relevance to any intent to carry out demeaning and abusive language against anyone on my part. My use of such language is descriptive which might hold up a mirror for others to see how bad it is to stop it.

Lt Harry Bird and BS have not yet started using "maggot," but with this song and my portraying their activity here they might very well pick it up. They grab whatever is in the current news if it serves their abusive purposes.

This will be my tenth consecutive Christmas subjected to this kind of abuse from totally invasive surveillance technology. There is never any let up with this abuse that goes on second-by-second 24/7, 365 days a year. There is not even a day off for Christmas. They take no holiday and respect nothing about what Christmas is supposed to mean in a supposedly Christian country. This is a reflection on the UK and its government. These are the most extreme and obsessive sadistic abusers that anyone could possibly imagine who are supported and sustained by those in authority.

No one stops them. Here's a song where these words are used to depict a Christmas argument in the extreme, and there is a huge brouhaha about it which results in the language being squelched. Then, it goes on to reach the news media level where the censorship of the Pogues' song becomes a greater issue. This is only a song which reflects a "fairy tale" describing an argument at Christmas.

Why is it no one takes any action to stop this kind of behaviour in reality when it is witnessed by scores of people if not hundreds continuously 24/7 every single day and night of the year for nine years and four months so far since mid-August 1998?

There is one much bigger problem when people get exercised over a song in this manner but do nothing about the reality of abuse which it depicts where such language is used intentionally in a most malicious manner. Why doesn't the media pick up on this torture abuse with the use of surveillance technology that I have been reporting to them for years?

Radio 1 censors Pogues' Fairytale

Kirsty MacColl sang with the Pogues on the 1987 hit

BBC Radio 1 has said it will stand by its ban on the word "faggot" from the Pogues' 1987 Christmas hit Fairytale of New York to avoid offence.

The word, sung by the late Kirsty MacColl as she trades insults with Shane MacGowan, has been dubbed out.

But MacColl's mother, Jean, called the ban "too ridiculous", while the Pogues said they found it "amusing".

The BBC said: "We are playing an edited version because some members of the audience might find it offensive."

And, BBC Radio Uno has decided to eliminate "faggot." All that for a bundle of wood.

Do you think Radio Uno has any idea what "scumbag" really meant originally when used by the police in Brooklyn as a slang term for someone they really disliked? It is so bad that I will not repeat it here.

Hey, it's the slang of the time and place.

faggot \fag"got\ (f[a^]g"[u^]t), n. [perh. from fagot , a shriveled old woman.]
a male homosexual; -- always used disparagingly and
considered offensive. [Slang, disparaging]

Syn: fagot, fag, fairy, pansy, queer, poof, poove, pouf.
[WordNet 1.5 +PJC]

2. a bundle of sticks and branches bound together; -- same as {fagot }.

Syn: fagot.
[WordNet 1.5]

Good for BBC News24 to put this out as it is on the TV screen and Internet. Will BBC Uno ever recover?

I'll bet Kirsty MacColl is smiling now wherever in the ether she might be.
